Sade Sati is the traditional name for Saturn moving through the sign before the natal Moon sign, the Moon sign itself, and the following sign. Use your birth Moon sign, not a birthday Sun sign or the ascendant. The label identifies a transit relationship. It does not establish that seven and a half years of hardship will occur.
The 2025–2026 timeline used here
This article uses Anantrix’s geocentric [Earth-centred] calculation in the Lahiri sidereal zodiac [a zodiac with a stated stellar reference], reviewed on 4 October 2026. Under that setting Saturn changes from Aquarius to Pisces on 29 March 2025 and stays in Pisces through the end of 2026. This is a calendar-date summary, not a universal ingress minute. Other settings or civil timezones can change the displayed boundary time.
Before the March 2025 Pisces ingress

- Capricorn Moon — Saturn has left the three-sign Sade Sati span after the Pisces ingress under this setting. Other Saturn transits still exist, but they are not this Sade Sati phase.
How to check the phase yourself
Write the twelve signs in order, wrapping Pisces back to Aries. Mark your natal Moon sign. Now mark the immediately preceding and following signs. If the current Saturn sign is one of those three, the traditional Sade Sati classification applies. The preceding sign is the opening phase, the same sign the middle phase and the following sign the final phase.
For an Aries Moon example, the three signs are Pisces, Aries and Taurus. Saturn in Pisces therefore gives the opening phase. For Aquarius Moon, the three are Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, so the same Pisces transit gives the final phase. This is one transit with different relationships to different Moon signs; it does not say those people share the same life events.
Why “seven and a half” is approximate
Saturn’s orbit around the Sun takes roughly 29.4 Earth years. Its movement through a 30-degree sidereal sign is often summarized as about two and a half years, giving the familiar name for three signs. Actual sign-entry and exit dates are not three identical blocks. Apparent retrograde motion can repeat a boundary crossing, so a personal schedule needs calculated dates and a stated convention.
A phase name is not a personal forecast
Traditional readings often discuss responsibility, patience, boundaries and sustained effort during Saturn periods. These are themes for reflection, not evidence of a job loss, illness, separation or financial loss. Even within the tradition, a personal reading considers the full chart and relevant timing factors. A general phase list cannot choose a career move, treatment or relationship decision for you.
Do not confuse Sade Sati with Saturn Mahadasha [Saturn’s main planetary period]. The first is a current transit relative to the birth Moon sign; the second is part of a Dasha sequence calculated from natal inputs. Someone can have either, both or neither. Combining both labels does not turn an uncertain interpretation into a certain event.
What if the birth time or Moon sign is uncertain?
Use a reliable record if available. If the Moon crosses a sign on the local birth date, date alone may leave two possible Moon signs. Calculate the day range and keep both phase possibilities until the birth time is better established. A nickname, first-name letter or Western Sun-sign calendar is not a substitute for the natal Moon calculation.
Practices without fear or pressure
If prayer, a Saturn mantra or service is part of your tradition, it can be an optional devotional practice. It is not a requirement to prevent a predicted disaster, and a purchase cannot be promised to cancel a transit. Ordinary steps such as reviewing commitments, keeping realistic routines and asking for help when needed can be useful regardless of the chart. Choose them for their practical value.

Did Saturn return to Aquarius in October 2025?
Not under this application’s Lahiri calculation. Retrograde motion during a sign stay does not necessarily cause a return to the previous sign.
Does Sade Sati guarantee bad events?
No. It labels a traditional transit relationship. It cannot establish illness, job loss, separation or any other specific event.
Should I use my Sun sign or Moon sign?
Use the natal sidereal Moon sign calculated with the same convention as the Saturn transit. A birthday Sun-sign list is not the correct input.
