Why are the Sun, Moon, Rahu and Ketu listed with planets?
Vedic astrology uses graha as a traditional category. It includes the Sun and Moon, along with Rahu and Ketu, the two lunar nodes where the Moon's orbital plane meets the ecliptic. The nodes are calculated points, not physical planets.
Does one difficult planetary placement settle the whole reading?
A fuller traditional reading considers the placement with its house, sign, relationships to other planets and active periods. A single label leaves out that context. Ask what supports the interpretation rather than assuming one planet determines a life outcome.
