Sun sign
The Sun takes roughly a year to travel around the zodiac and about a month per sign. Popular birthday ranges are approximate tropical Sun-sign guides. On a changeover date, the year and exact birth time can matter. A Vedic sidereal Sun sign uses a different zodiac offset.
In traditional interpretation, the Sun is associated with authority, purpose and self-expression. Those themes are part of the tradition. They cannot describe a whole person. In a Vedic chart the Sun's house, condition and relationships with other planets also matter.
Moon sign
The Moon moves much faster, crossing a sign in roughly two to three days. Its exact position also identifies the birth nakshatra (birth star) and pada (quarter) in a Vedic chart. Time uncertainty can leave multiple possible results within one local birth day.
Traditional Moon interpretations focus on mind, emotional response and habitual experience. A Moon sign does not diagnose a mental state or determine compatibility on its own. Check the whole chart and the real relationship.
Rising sign or ascendant
The ascendant is the point where the zodiac meets the eastern horizon at the birth location and moment. Its calculation needs an accurate time and location. Rising times are not equal for every sign and latitude, so changing a time by a fixed number of hours is not a reliable shortcut.
In a Vedic whole-sign chart, the ascendant's sign is counted as the first house. Different house systems use other boundary conventions. Identify the system when comparing charts, especially at high latitudes or near a rising-sign change.
Keep the settings consistent
Use the same birth details and zodiac for all three placements. Anantrix's standard chart is sidereal (star referenced), using the Lahiri offset. A tropical Sun sign copied from a birthday list should not be silently combined with a sidereal Moon and ascendant and labelled one internally consistent chart.
